The Only Search Engine that Turns Your Searches into Trees
It’s no secret that we’ve all been spending A LOT of time online in the last few weeks. Wouldn’t it be great if this had a positive impact?
Introducing VUxEcosia - a new Green Office campaign to make our internet searches carbon-negative and to plant trees where they’re most needed.
Ecosia is a search engine that uses its profits from advertising revenue to plant trees. It also powers its searches using solar energy, meaning that every search via Ecosia removes 1kg of CO2 from the atmosphere. If you’d like to know more about the other benefits of using Ecosia, either for yourself or communities and ecosystems around the world, visit their blog.
The Green Office has partnered with Ecosia to create a VU-specific link via which you can download the Ecosia browser extension and make it your default search engine. By downloading and using Ecosia this way, your searches will count towards the VUs total, helping us to make a bigger impact as a community (stay tuned for monthly tree planting reports, events and, hopefully, our own campus tree!).
What better time to connect and positively influence your immediate community, as well as others all over the world, literally at the click of a button?
