fabcityOn the 11th of April, 2016 the new and temporary sustainable campus, Fab City opened its doors. Fab City is an initiative by ‘Europe By People’, and it has the goal to be the first completely circular and self-sustaining campus in the Netherlands. On this small campus, located at the Java Island in Amsterdam, students, small businesses and artists are trying to find answers to the ecological, political and economic problems of tomorrow.

In Fab City you can find the first completely self-sustaining houses in the Netherlands, meaning that the houses on Fab City are not connected to gas, water and electricity, as well as small businesses developing sustainable furniture, 3D printers, and many other interesting projects. There will be also be plenty of lectures, workshops and exhibitions, which you can attend.

Fab City will be open for 10 weeks in total, until the 26th of June. If you want to check out one of the many events held, or if you want to help out as a volunteer, check out their website by clicking here.
